  • Am I covered if I use a weapon to protect myself?

This is a touchy question.  First all I am not a lawyer This is what i have found out generally speaking and the laws may vary depending on where you live.

Generally speaking if you are legally able to possess the weapon, legally obtained the weapon, legally carrying the weapon and you are threatened by someone who has the means to carry out the threat and you are scared that you will suffer bodily harm or death from the person who threatened you, you are able to protect yourself by whatever means you have to stop the threat.  No I am not saying that if someone threatens to punch you it is ok to shoot them, but what i am saying you are able to up the threat by one step.

Personally, I carry protection that covers me if I legally use my weapons to stop the threat.  This protection provides up to a million dollars of protection.  They will bail you out of jail, provide a pro Second Amendment Attorney to represent you.  They will also cover damages from civil law suits.  To learn more about this coverage click here.

No matter if you decide to purchase a protection plan or not I recommend you consult legal repersentation to know the laws in your community and state.

  • Can your college student protect themselves?

September it is a great time to think about personal and property security.  As we send are 18 and 19 year olds off to fend for themselves on a large campus where we do not know anyone and we trust these strangers to keep our children safe and return them home to us at the end of the semester.  There are several things we can do to protect our young adults.  We can get them a personal safety kit for college students which allows them to hide things in plain site, alarm their dorm room door, a noise maker, personal protection spray, among other items.

With all of the rapes and robberies we hear about happening on college campuses these days we have to give our young adults a fighting chance to defend themselves,  This personal safety kit for college students  includes the necessary items that will give them this advantage over the bad guy.

  • More About Me

I thought I would go into a little more detail to share with you a little more about me.

I am a Licensed Nursing Home Administrator during the day and whenever I get woke up in the middle of the night, now saying that yes I have been in the security industry for over 10 years.  I have worked with a couple of different Security organizations over the years.  I hold the proper credentials in my home state to work security.  I have done security for multiple day festivals to intimate settings.  I started out doing security at the bottom being stuck on the perimeter not being able to see or hear what was going on at the event and not having a real way to get in touch with anyone else but my partner if something went wrong (which luckily I never had any incidents when I was in these positions).   After working a number of events and concerts I worked my way up to doing back stage and stage area security.  Eventually I started running the security team that secured the backstage and the artist personal security for the concerts.  With this position I worked closely with a good friend and he assisted me with all aspects of this detail at the bigger shows.  I have escorted artist to and from signings, I have shadowed Artist making their way through the audience during the show.  As a Nursing Home Administrator I have to look at the security of the facility for the residents, visitors, and staff.  Part of this included how many and where to place security lighting along the outside of the facility, If the facility would have security cameras and if so how many and their locations on the inside and outside of the facility.  So as you can see I have been involved with security and safety in multiple aspects of the industry.

I was working some three and a half hours from home as a Nursing Home Administrator 3 ½ of the past 4 ½ years getting home every other weekend or so.  My wife and I made this work and we were ok with it.  Last September on the last Sunday of the month I received a phone call from the management company of the facility wanting me to go out of state to another facility (this would put me 5 to 6 hours away by plane and getting home closer to once a month) which they were inquiring and had to replace the Administrator there, my wife and I considered this opportunity and weighed the options heavily.  This opportunity would mean that I would be further from home and get home less.  After long consideration we decided I would resign from my position.   I gave them a 30-day notice and ended up going to this new facility for about 45 days to assist them in finding a new Administrator.  I consider this to be one of my best decisions I could have made:  The day after I got home from this out of state facility well more like 156 hours or so after I got home my wife suffered a major stroke (last November).  The stroke affected her left side without the use of both of her hands and not able to stand for more than a few short seconds on her own; she is not able to work in her profession, which she loves dearly, as a Dental Hygienist.  I am very thankful that we decided that I would resign, because it allowed me to spend all day and night with her during the worse week of our married lives and I was there to care for her and to make sure she received the care that she deserved.  Here we are 9 months after her stroke she is making slow but steady progress.  She is walking with the assistance of a hemi cane/walker and walking with me and/or her PT without any assistive device.  Her arm still is not moving much.  I am very thankful that she is improving on a daily basis and that I have been able to be here to care for her.

Now that I have shared some of my woes let me tell you a little more about me I am a strong supporter of the Second Amendment, and I believe that the tools on this website should be protected under it as well, even though some states and municipalities have declared them illegal or have placed heavy restrictions on them. I practice my Second Amendment rights on a daily basis (I’ll let you draw your own conclusions on what I mean by that).   I also believe it is important to protect yourself and your family from the aftermath if you ever have to defend yourself or them, for this reason I am going to refer you to a product that I believe every American should have as part of their personal defense arsenal.  It is a product that will protect you financially if you have to defend yourself or your family.  For more information about the protection I am referring to click here.  Yes, I carry this policy myself.
